Project Summary

We are proud to present our latest collaboration with Dickey’s BBQ Pit, an iconic American restaurant chain renowned for its mouthwatering southern-style barbecue. As a leading mechanical and electrical engineering company, we had the honour of working on the design of Dickey’s new location, an exciting addition to their ever-expanding culinary empire and the second Dickey’s in Canada!

Project Goals

The objective of this project was to create a remarkable new restaurant location that embodied the spirit and traditions of the renowned chain while meeting Canadian construction and food service standards. In alignment with Dickey’s commitment to quality, we aimed to incorporate advanced mechanical and electrical systems that enhanced both comfort and sustainability.

Our Solution

Working from strict input from the franchise headquarters in the US, we ensured the operations and style of the chain would meet the company’s standards. We designed the kitchen ventilation; general HVAC distribution ductwork; plumbing, including provisions for soda machines; power distribution; lighting and fire alarm. A specific challenge came with the franchise’s heavily-relied on meat smoker, which uses wood pellets – a major concern for commercial kitchen ventilation. We made sure to accurately size the hood and associated exhaust system to handle the tremendous quantity of fumes and heat given off by the appliance.

Result

The successful completion of the Dickey’s BBQ Pit project is a testament to our commitment to excellence. The newly opened restaurant location stands as a culinary masterpiece, embodying the rich heritage and flavours that Dickey’s BBQ Pit is renowned for. Guests are welcomed into a warm and inviting ambiance, enhanced by our innovative mechanical and electrical systems.
